Realms of Eldermyr — last updated 26 September 2026

The short version

Eldermyr keeps the least it can. There is no real name, no location, no advertising and no tracking, and no email address unless you choose to support the game (see below), and nothing about you is sold or handed to anyone else. What the game stores is what it needs to remember your hero between visits.

What is stored

Your account. The name you log in with, and your password stored as a scrambled hash. Nobody, including us, can read your password back out of it. Your browser also holds a login token so you stay signed in.

Your heroes. Each hero’s name and their progress: level, gear, coins, quests and where they were standing when you left.

When you played. The start and end time of each visit, so the game can show how busy the realm is. This does not include where you went, what you said, or your IP address.

How you found the game. The name of the website that sent you here, such as news.ycombinator.com, or the short tag on the link you followed. Never the full address, and nothing else about the page you came from.

What other players see

Your hero’s name, level, class and position in the world are visible to other players nearby, and your name can appear on the public World page and in the realm-wide announcements when you earn a Gold or Platinum medal. Nothing else about you is ever shown to anyone.

Chat

On the website, players can type short messages to each other. Those messages are passed live between players and are never written down or stored anywhere. The iOS app has no chat at all — it neither sends messages nor receives them.

Hero and account names are checked against a filter before they are allowed, because a name is seen by everyone.

Deleting everything

You can delete your account from inside the game at any time: open the hero select, then Delete my account. It asks you to type your account name back, and then it is done immediately and permanently — every hero, all their progress, your login and your play history are erased. There is no recovery and no waiting period.

If you would rather we did it, write to josiahturnq.dev@gmail.com.

Supporting the game

Players can choose to become a patron. Payments are taken by Stripe on its own pages, and no card number ever reaches the game. What the game keeps is the order itself (what was bought, when, the amount, and the receipt email you gave Stripe) and a patron mark on your account. The mark is cosmetic: it changes nothing about how your hero plays. Deleting your account removes the mark; the order record is kept for the accounting Stripe requires.

Gems. Your account keeps a gem balance and its number in the order accounts were created (the first 10,000 get 200 extra gems and the Founder medal), its own invite code, and, if you joined through a friend’s invite link, which account invited yours (so both of you can be paid when you reach level 15), a list of every change to it (what it was for and when) and the skins and home decor you have bought with gems. Gems bought on the website are paid through Stripe in the same way, and the game keeps the order (which pack, when, the amount, and the receipt email you gave Stripe). Gems buy looks only: they change nothing about how your hero plays. Deleting your account removes the balance, its history and what you bought with it; the order record is kept for the accounting Stripe requires.

Children

Eldermyr is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly keep information from them. If you believe a child has made an account, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Questions about any of it: josiahturnq.dev@gmail.com.
